Our Services

Coats

My family have been making coats for tailors in Savile Row, the City, Greater London and the SouthEast of England since the mid 1950s.
The tailoring houses send me the bundles to make up the coats, they collect the coats finished around three/four weeks later, or sooner if the job is urgent.

 Floating Canvas

Most of our tailors like to have their coats made up in the traditional way with a full floating canvas, either hand padded or by padding machine. We hand finish all our coats i.e. Button holes, felling linings, stabbed edge stitching, cross stitched under collars etc...

Fused Fronts/Half Canvas

Some of our tailors like their coats made up in the modern way, with fused or bonded fronts and made up with a loose half chest canvas. This gives the tailor a less expensive option to offer their customers rather than the traditional more expensive method.

We also make up Fittings

Rough Baste

We offer a basic rough basted fitting with  a collar and sleeves but no pockets. This is sent back to the Tailoring house to be fitted and recut, then sent back to me to either prepare for a second fitting at the pocket baste stage or to skip this stage and go to either the forward fitting or straight to finish, depending on how that particular tailoring house likes to work.

 Pocket Baste

Some tailoring houses make their own first rough baste and recut and then send the coat to me to prepare the second fitting known as the pocket baste fitting. Once fitted, they will recut the coat and return it to us to either prepare a forward fitting or finish the coat and return the coat completed.

forward Fitting

On some occasions, the Tailoring houses require a forward fitting. At this stage, most of the coat has been made, leaving just the collar and sleeves to be made and attached, hand finishing to be carried out, and lastly the pressing and all the buttons.
